Greetings, I came across this script about a year ago and put in into my mirc. It works well, and I thank Degausser for writing it!!! However, I had to add an AWOL componant when players forgot they were playing or left the channel. I also colorized the suits and card values. If you would like to play my version, it can be found in abjects.net in #café (yes, with accent egu; alt-130 in windows) Have fun!
PS. For those who see squigglies in stead of the suits, you likely need at least mirc v7.6 available at www.mirc.com
Okay as it is written I turned it on and it never messaged it was on. I accidently set my own greet to on, now it wont respond to !delgreet and does not msg the chan that it is or has deleted the greeting. so when I try to change my greet it does tell me I've got one and to use !delgreet to remove it but nothing else is working at this point

Greets!
I think I understnad now...you want to add an extra check to see if the message has been set..if so, then don't send the message...so your best bet is to do something like this
/set -u4 %msgCheck yes
You can put that about the timer. and then change your greet alias to this
alias -l greet msg $chan Weclome to the stream $nick $+ !
And then change your timer to just perfrom the greet alias instead of using it as an identifier.
Finally, change that last line to this
if (%msgCheck) .timer $+ $nick 1 3 greet
Again, this is just a rough start of what I think you want to do.
EDIT: Re-reading your question, you are still asking it to greet twice. You want to complete the random greet, but also use timer in the greet. So, either way, it looks as if you want to greet twice, anyways.
Well first off, you have nothing to compare it too, so even if one of the channels or nicks were bad...it would still trigger. To answer you question, you have a /msg set by the random picking, then you created a timer to message out $greet. If you only want one greeting, you may want to consider getting rid of the timer
greetings peoples I am in need of advice and lots of help, just call me that noob :) I have been putting in charge of running the scripts and one of my roles is to change the topic if not everyday everyother. My question is can Rider91 script above have a timmer put in for a start and the next question is and here the really noob part. would I be right in saying where it says "Enter your topic:" is where you enter your topic so take out "Enter your topic:" and between " and " put for example: Welcome to HawkEE Enjoy Your Stay, and that is what will show in Your topic's also because it says "Enter your topic:" 32 time does that mean you can have 32 diffrent topics. thanks for an advice and or help
Hey All,
I have appreciated all the help i have received recently and all of it has worked perfectly as I wouldn't know what to add or not, I am just wondering if anyone can help me with this little problem.
Problem: I am trying to greet a 'specific' user when they join a channel and not everyone who joins the channel
on *:JOIN:#: {
if ($nick == Krypton ) {
msg # My Master Has Just Joined The Room
}
}
on *:JOIN:#: {
if ($nick == Camacorn ) {
msg # The channel Owner Has Just Joined The Room
}
}
on *:JOIN:#: {
if ($nick == Anthony ) {
msg # Anthony Has Just Joined The Room
}
}
But it will only just do one and not display any of the others when they rejoin the channel or disconnect and connect again.
Any help is appreciated, thanks very much.
Krypton.
3600 is 3600 seconds, which translates to 60 minutes, translating to 1 hour. Do you just want a different message each join? Or different message each day?
.timerquote 86400 .set %dailyQuote $rand(0,$!lines(bigquotes.txt)) - this will read how many lines are in, and choose a random one from the 0th (first) line, and the last line in bigquotes.
Then you can do
msg # $read(bigquotes.txt, %dailyQuote)
I would have these sperate, as setting the greet, is requested upon someone joining.
Alias DailyQuote {
set %dailyQuote $rand(0,$!lines(bigquotes.txt))
.timerquote 86400 set %dailyQuote $rand(0,$!lines(bigquotes.txt))
}
-this will set it upon use then every day (if you keep the bot running 24/7 will reset the daily quote.
ON !*:JOIN:*:{
if (!%qotdFlood) {
msg # Quote of the Day - $read(bigquotes.txt, %dailyQuote) | .inc %qotdFlood -z 60
}
}
The .inc is for a flood protections so if 20 people join at once, it doesn't spam it. It can only be said, omn a join once a minute.
and so you know, inside the actual code. You don't need all the / and . Although infront of the timer to my knowledge makes the event 'silent' or that it won't post it. # is the same as $chan.
If you use this. and you put the Alias in your 'alias' file, MAke sure you don't have Alias, So I would put it in the remote with the Alias. Then on
Hello peeps,
I was wondering if I could like set up my mIRC with scripts etc, without having any computers on. Something like running it on my router or something. Or do I need a server for that...
Having my computer on all the time can get a little bothering sometime (I'm using Windows 7 on that computer if that makes any difference.).
I'd be glad to hear your solutions!
Greetings,
Farcrada
@Sorasyn
Apparently you still have the account in "standby" because even I can not find your project.
I'm very interested because I'm working on a similar project but for LANs.
I hope to see your work.
Greetings and thanks for answering.
I am looking for help to create a new snippet that I cant seem to find on here. I'm trying to create a snippet that will remember hostmasks, and when that person enters a specific room, It will greet them, by their name, or whatever I call them. As i'm new to msl scripting.. I know i'm going to need some assistance with this, if one hasn't already been created. Thanks! You can find me on www.uchats-net.com in room #Reloaded` Thanks in advance!
Greetings Everyone!
I would like these 2 scripts to be converted from mIRC to xchat which I'm using currently.
1st Script: http://www.hawkee.com/thread/88990
on *:action:*slap*:#: {
var %slap-excludes = #help,#suppport
if (!$istok(%slap-excludes,$chan,44)) {
if ($me isin $1-) {
inc %anti
describe $chan dodges! $+([Slaps Dodged:,%anti,]) }
}
}
2nd Script: http://www.hawkee.com/thread/5906
on *:connect:{ set %a $me }
on *:nick:{
if ($nick == $me) set %a $me
}
on *:Action:*slaps $me*:*:{
if ($chan == $null) set %n $nick
else set %n $chan
msg %n $nick has just attempted to slap me!
describe %n dodges $nick\'s slap and counter-attacks $nick
}
Let me butt in here and say the snippet doesn't work as @Sorasyn and @Stewie1k94 stated. Let's examine why.
Your code:
on *:JOIN:#: {
/set %join.rand $rand(1.3) {
if (%join.rand == 1) /msg $chan welcome on the $chan chat $nick
if (%join.rand == 2) /msg $chan welcome on the $chan chat chanal $nick.
if (%join.rand == 3) /msg $chan welcome $nick, stick to the rules and I will not kick you ;)
}
}
Line 2 is incorrect. Let's start from the first error. You have a period instead of a comma where you use $rand. It should read $rand(1,3) not $rand(1.3). Secondly, this line doesn't require a bracket at the end. There is no statement preceding the bracket, therefore it won't work as-is. Your code should look similar to @Stewie1k94's code in order for it to work properly. >.<
Overall, I don't understand why people still make these types of snippets anymore. No one really wants to be greeted by a bot. It's quite annoying (personally). However, it is a good place to start (I suppose) if you're new to coding mSL. >.<
