I've been considering changing the icon for our "like" system. The thumbs up is very much a staple on sites like Facebook, but we are a different breed of site. I was considering maybe a heart like they use on Dribbble or maybe a pyramid upvote like StackOverflow. I had considered a star like GitHub, but stars are a bit too broadly used. Any suggestions?

Edit: kidding, perhaps a tick?

A tick?

An "H"... kidding. Lol. XD Pyramid sounds cool.

Only thing with a pyramid/up arrow is it implies there is also a downvote option, which we don't have.

the H from hawkee maybe?
so like instead of like you could say hawk

@dragonheurt I'm not sure about that, I think it needs to be something to represent appreciation.

@Hawkee A tick as in ✓

Hawkee  -  Jan 11, 2013

@Conscious Ah I see. I don't think that universally represents a like or a vote. To me that's more for a checklist.

I updated the thumbs up icon for now with our new font icon library. It's a lot more crisp than before. I'm still debating switch it to a heart though.

What about the McDonalds M, As their slogan is, "I'm Lovin' It"

;)

lol @ mcdonalds

I decided to go with the heart. After seeing it on Discourse I was convinced. I think hearts are starting to become more of a modern convention than the older thumbs up image.
