Simple Toothpick build

Some general notes:

  • The 65mm hq props tend to fall off the shaft unless you push them down almost all the way
  • I made motor wire way too short so the rubber band had to go below the wires
  • I had the cap mounted initially but I removed it for weight saving, still flies fine
  • When you crash upside down the vtx antenna bends at the joint, I feel like this would eventually lead to it breaking off.

this boi lookin fine!! I really like the color scheme :D how are the motors? can you compare it to soemthing?

Jaub   Nov 19, 2019

I don't really have anything to compare to, but I can say that the construction is very nice and they seem to hold up to crashes. Only other thing is that the motor wires seem a bit thin but I don't think that impacts performance. I don't have a lot of experience with the toothpick class but im loving the motor's preformace so far.

I like the way you neatly stacked the boards under the camera!

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
