u can make it a 1 liner script using pipes
and vars [ <- optional lolz ]

ON *:CONNECT: { msg nickserv ghost %BotNick %BotPass | .nick %BotNick | msg nickserv id $me %BotPass | halt } 

ect.

but the way i did it everything would be a bit to fast an would prob cause minor spam
so the use of ur timers is a smart idea =]
