First, when using timers like these, it's best to do it with $!chan. The reason being that, and I've learned, ! in that location tells mIRC to calculate/obtain the value of the identifier when the timer fires, rather than when it's started.
Second, you can silence your timer by adding a dot in front of them.
Third, it's best you name your timers so that they won't conflict with other timers you have, in case they start simultaneously:
