Yes I see what you mean about the unintended result of ghosting a nick and then suddenly having your own nick changed due to protection rather than a ping out. I think the way you've handled it will work out just fine :D

This is nearly perfect! And it does exactly as it is supposed to do.

But I have one request, which will make it perfect...and useful for Bots.

Can you add a few lines as needed that will change the nick back to the protected one after the ghost command has been used? So like .. my nick times out, my Alt nick joins, the script ghost kills the timed out nick, and my alt nick auto changes to my primary?

I'm wondering though, would it be possible to add a command (preferably done in query) so that the selected bot can be changed remotely? Right now I have Alice running, but to change it to one of the other included bots I need to go to the physical PC where the bot is running, and that's not always possible.

This is a kick ass snippet! Simple to use as 1.2.3 ...and appears to be bug free!
