This is probably my favorite micro. The build is super tedious, trying to get everything to fit, example, I hard wired the fc to the esc and that gave me a extra mm. With the Emax 1106 motors this thing is a rocket BUT they are hogs even with 70c batt's. I have had brown outs doing punch outs and have to govern my throttle. Ain't no 5in but some serious fun!

Very nice build!
Which camera did you use and how did you mount it?
And which version of the motors did you choose, 6000KV?

Sorry for very late reply. I had a cc1563 little cmos at the time of the photo's with a modified 3d printed mount for a Rotorx atom. Now it has a runcam nano that is just hot glued into place. Yup, it's the Emax 1106 6000's, After much experience with the 2in class I now think that they are much more suited to the 1103 2s. As you probably know the 2.5 class is exploding right now and the Emax 1106 on Gemfan flash fit perfectly in that class. End of day, I am still proud of that build, it was and still is fun trying to fit 10 pounds of sh#t into a five pound bag.

Nice. Since posting my comment I've built my version of the X2 ELF using almost identical components. I added a little more room by using longer standoffs. I didn't see another way to fit the whole XJB stack in the middle, but you somehow managed to do that :D

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
