Rebuilt. https://rotorbuilds.com/build/4904

Fried $30 air shipped motor and $24 ESC at 4S1P test flight.
That hurts. I think I'll tear this thing down T_T

How do you like those esc’s? I have some for a 5 inch build.

I saw your other build of this. Looks awesome, the mounting you've used looks super clean and tight!
You had quoted 5min on the previous build, how's the 2x1300mah 4s for flight times? I'm trying to decide between 6 or 7 inch cruiser.

Unfortunately, I couldn't have proper flight with 4S2P setup yet. I expect 7-10 min cruising.
Because this guy is way too heavy.. auw over 700 is no joke lol I really like this but not a great cruiser.
I recommend forget alien and get a light 6inch 6s setup. That motor should be able to cruise over 10min with that.

I really hope you had a defective ESC, because I'm putting together a 6s 6" with those motors... Was hoping to use 35A ESCs I have laying around, and just cap them all @ 470uF, plus a 1000uF on the power lead. What size capacitors did you use?

Maybe inadequate air flow since the motors are designed to cruise @~60 mph?

1000uF x4 for each ESCs. I think it is almost overkill..
It was not a heat issue, these motors stay cool all the time. It felt pretty good.
I started to really like this quad... and a crash and a magic smoke lol..
Very very high quality motor, just a very very bad crash.

Aaaah sorry to hear, but that's a relief for me! When I see the word "fried" I tend to assume heat or current as the sources of the component failure. I can't wait until mine get here. Silverdrone shipping speed is somewhere between glacial and turtles in peanut butter.

Yeah you will be pleased. Really liked the prop-holding teeth as well, that thing really bites.
I think shaft bent at the crash and that giant esc threw massive current to spin it right before disarm.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
