My new main 5" inch freestyle quad with new electronics, apart from the motors which I took from my previous 5" inch quad. It has a weight about 370g without battery and a HD camera, but I could probably lower it a bit, by using a lighter camera mount.

Hi, I'm collecting parts for my next build which will have the Kakute F4 flight controller. I've got an Eagle 2 to go in, I just need to decide on the vtx. I want a TBS unify Pro, but just can't decide if I should opt for the HV or 5v version. Did you power your vtx directly from vbat or from the 5v on the FC? Also where did you power the camera from, FC, VTX or vbat? Are you happy with the result, do you get any lines on the fpv feed on throttle? Was there anything that made you pick the HV over the 5v version? A lot of questions but would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks

Hey, I'm using the HV version and I'm powering it from the VBat pin thats right beside the VO pin. The camera is also powered from a VBat Pin, but of course from the one on the front, below the ribbon cable.
As for the result, I'm happy with it, but judge yourself:

There is some noise, but not to bad and I can't imagine the 5v version would change anything on that. The main reason for taking the HV version, was just to have a seperate power circutry for VTX. The v5 is supposed to draw only 600mA at 800mW, but using the HV just gives me confidence I'll never draw to much power from the FC.
Hope that helps. If you have further questions, just ask. I'm happy to help ;-)

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
