This is another Armattan build, this time using the 5" Chameleon frame. I sent the aluminum pieces to Pig on RCGroups (feel free to contact for any anodizing, here is a link to message him: https://tinyurl.com/ycugyq5l) and he wanted to do black/orange dual anodizing rather than one solid color. It's by far the best/smoothest anodizing I've seen, it literally feels like glass. I couldn't any happier with how the parts turned out, I'm afraid to ding them up.

The 4-in-1 ESCs are becoming very popular but I personally would rather have separate ESCs in case one of them needs replacing so I'm using the Armattan 30a ESCs. I took the heat shrink off of 2 of them and turned the Armattan aluminum ESC protector around so that they are all facing the same direction and replaced the old heat shrink.

The flight controller is a BetaFlight F3, some people don't like it because the ESC power pads are on the bottom of the board but I actually like it that way since it makes for a cleaner looking build. The easiest way to solder up the ESC power wires is to flip the board over on the frame, solder the power wires in place then flip it back over and solder on the motors. I enlarged the mounting holes on the FC and soft mounted it will silicone fuel tubing.

The rest of the electronics consist of Armattan Oomph 2206-2300kv motor with DAL T5045C props, a FX668t-2 VTx with Menace Raptor antenna, LemonRX DSMX satellite and a Foxeer HS1177 camera with the 2.5mm lens.

This is a beast on a 5S 1300mAh 100c graphene CNHL battery.

How do you find the range of the Satellite receiver in that position?

I mount the Lemon RX DSMX satellites in roughly the same position on all my builds and routinely fly up to 1100 feet away without any issues.

Awesome, I'll give it a try!

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
