To reiterate what everyone else has said - this is a very well thought out frame made of the highest quality carbon I have seen. I'm finding it a bit harder to tune for freestyle than my top mount frames, but is stable in the air and very durable. Finding I actually like the longer Pagodas because they bend in crashes and exert less force on the vtx sma connector.

Very tempted to buy the new top and bottom plates and the 6" arms to reincarnate the thing in stretch form, but I'm enjoying it just enough to stop myself.

I've been debating between this or the alien for freestyle which one do you recommend?

I think they both leave something to be desired - this being a racing frame, and the alien being a comparatively ancient design. If you're dead set on an impulse frame for freestyle, I'd probably wait for the newer designs they have in the pipeline.

Newer top mount frames with shorter stacks will provide tighter centers of mass, and are thus easier to tune. The two such frames I have and can comment on are the Corgette and the Chameleon, and both have their strengths and weaknesses. The Corgette has better geometry and seems faster and more stable through the air. The Chameleon is more durable and sports a slicker design, but I'm not a fan of the wide X layout - definitely harder to tune well

Thanks for your reply. I've been also looking at the chameleon due to its warranty, and I like the unique design. I'll check out the corgette though.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
