The AvocadoXL is an experiment in frame design where the battery sits in an internal compartment at a 45-degree angle. This enables the center of gravity and moment of inertia to be sequestered right in the middle of the prop line. I've noticed flight characteristics benefit from this balancing acts as the quad responds quicker and smoother to controller input as there isn't as much weight above of below the quadcopter to throw around ( the more localized to center moment of inertia )
