I'm always on the lookout for builds with components that might or might not fit together :)

This one is no exception: What I had was a set of motors and a rather big mamba 20x20 AIO. Would it fit a race frame that came out 3 years ago?
The Stardust SB5 Pro is a beautiful, simplistic frame that is just different. Hand-molded raw carbon fibers, old school unibody, and two nicely milled brackets. And the best thing? the formerly 90$-ish frame is now 9$ at tbs, so you can buy 10 for the price of one :)

I had to modify three things though:
1) Motor mounts are for 16mm & 19mm, so they obvously wouldn't fit my AF204 motors. I took a 2mm round file, and it took me maybe 20min to expand the motor mounting holes. It feels solid, but lets see how well they will hold up.
2) The DJI Cam (the very old one) with the 21mm width and two mounting holes did not fit too well, so I used a 3D printed encasing. I guess if I were to buy new, I'd just take a Nebula Pro cam (or the nano with spacers)
3) The Frame only has holes for 30x30, so I printed an adapter for the 20x20 stack. As a bonus, there's now space for a battery strap.

Other than that, the build was very staightforward. put everything on a stack with 25mm screws and some zip ties - done.

Dry weight is 199g, not too bad for a DJI 5" quad :)

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
