Rotor riot inspired 3inch bone drone

Ever since seeing rotor riot's video where they made a 5inch bone drone, I have been facinated with the concept and had to make my own. I decided to make a 3inch using a cheap frame of banggood as I didn't want to spend more on a 5inch for what was going to be mostly a novelty build. It is setup just like a regular quad but with two motors facing down. It is running on 550mah 3s batteries on 5500kv. The only difficulty i encountered when building this was that the flight controller wouldnt fit when placed right side up, meaning it had to be put in upside down then remapped in betaflight. It flies suprisingly decent, not as good as a regular 3inch 3s setup but then I didn't expect it to. Its very fun to fly however as it can hit ridiculously small gaps, you can just dive a tree canopy without even searching for a gap. Only annoyance is you have to put it on something to take off as the props will strike the ground otherwise. Obviously it can't turtle mode.

How do you land? Disarm over grass?
How did you attach the "armlets" to the main plate of the frame? I am assuming you have something else under the tape

You can just land it like a regular quad it will sit on the battery. The armlets are attatched using some screws and press nuts under the tape.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
