3/12/22 I've been sitting on this build for almost a year. 4 motors used to live on my DC10, then when I upgraded that to BH3115's I bought 4 more Xings and 2 of my favorite 30x30 ESC and...did other stuff.

Finally soldered everything up a week or so ago. After flying my DC10 with the Lumix G7 onboard and getting incredible performance from a big quad, I was curious how this octo would compare. I've only run a few packs through it, but it's clearly far less efficient than the DC10 and will need some tuning.

On maiden day I did a couple 2 minute hops without the camera and then put it on for the rest of the pack. Here's a clip stabilized with an intentionally wide FoV to show the bumpiness.

I've got the universal camera mount on my DC10 right now, but I will also try it out on the Thicc once my alphagel dampers arrive.
I've got a lot to learn about tuning before this flies it's best. It's such a cool machine!

Here's the last flight of that evening. After I've got more hours on my big drones I'll be sending my Pocket 4k to the sky! For now I'm just happy to be playing with different lenses and capturing nice low light video, even with just a G7.

Still much learning and tuning to be done!
