the Green Goblin now just the Goblin
this has become my go to everyday flyer, great for micro long range or freestyle top speed it 40mph level flight but thats pushing the limits best top speed is 30mph a good cruse is 20-25mph most fun per $.$$ per gram of any copter i have.
i have rebuilt this little gem again with a new canopy /gps mount, new beta fpv motors 1204 5000kv and a naked caddx vista unit.
total weight is now down to 102g had to add some sheilding for the gps system. made a new antenna for the crossfire system. getting 6min on a 3s 650mha battery over 9min on an 850mha 3s
This copter started life as an analog micro using a 16x16 stack, and flew awesome. It was my go to copter all winter flying in the garden and in the house.
However when the DJI system came out i was stunned by the visual capability of the system. i kept flying the goblin however, because the weather didn't allow me to fly anything bigger, and everytime i flew it i wished it was HD.
When the caddx vista finaly came out i knew i had to try and put it on the goblin.
Well here is the final product.
This copter has 7min, 30 sec. of flight time during normal crusing. it can hit super tight gaps, fly throgh trees, under bushes. With the TBS crossfire system i have nearly unlimited range checked only by battery life. It is great for exploring parks and gardens and forests.
The systen uses an AIO board that uses bi-directional D-shot, and RPM filtering on a BLheli_s ESC. It uses a full DJI HD camera, not the nebula. i did remove the camera backing amd replaced it with a lightweight plastic cover.
I used a Flywoo lightweight GPS unit that weighs only 4.6g to give me speed, altitude, and distance home. the Immortal T antenna was stripped down from 3.5g to 1.9g
I drilled a hole through the rear support post for the Video antenna, the canopy mounting screw is long enough to clamp the antenna down and keep it safe in a crash so it wont come unplugged.
the frame weighs in at 17g stock. After not using the top CF plate to reinforce the TPU canopy, and opening the camera port to accept the after market runcam lens it shed 5 grams bringing it to 12g.
Its total weight with 850mha 3s battery is 189.64g.
Without the gps it is 184g. and remove all LEDs and its down to 156g.
I even found the lightest weight bolts for mounting props and motors removing 4g.
12/1/20 Update made a new canopy and moved the GPS unit. i was getting spotty reception on GPS and decided i needed a clear view of the sky. this works much better, the ABS is the same weight as the TPU but its ridgid, holds the gps, and makes the whole copter more ridgid.

Very cool build! I believe this AIO board only support 2 UART, did you use softserial and which pins worked for you. I used S5 and LED but don't believe the board support it. Thanks for the reply in advance!

no it has 4 UARTS
UART 1 is for the data on the caddx vtx
uart 2 is for esc rpm filters
uart 3 is GPS
uart 6 is data for the crossfire rx

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
