6S Glide Floss - Green Wasp?

Like many of my builds this one evolved into something different than I originally planned. My Nazgul has been taking a beating and I was tired of waiting for someone to have replacement arms in stock, so I bought the Glide frame. I planned to swap everything over to the Glide. Well after I completely disassembled the Nazgul, I found that the motor leads were too short to fit the new frame. So that started the search for parts to make this into a sub 610 gram AUW rig as per Kabab's recommendation.

My particular Glide frame required quite a bit of tweaking to get it together. All the information on this frame warns of tight tolerances, so I was aware it may not be easy. I was disappointed in the fit and finish of the kit I received. The tolerances were indeed tight, but it was also not possible to assemble it without some re-work. I tried for nearly 90 minutes before I gave up and got out the drill and some sandpaper. The holes were off by nearly a quarter between the arms and bottom plate. I drilled out all the holes with a 3mm bit. Then I had to sand down all four arms, so that they would line up. It is still extremely tight after the modifications, so I hope it flies well.

All up weight is slightly under 600 grams with a 6S 1050 mah battery.

I flashed the FC with Emuflight and just waiting for a dry day to try this thing out.

really want to build this quad! How does she fly and how powerful is she. How does it do in tight places like a parking lot?

Sorry to disappoint but I havent been able to fly it yet. The weather has been bad and I had problems getting it in the air. I had it working on the bench with multiple motor tests, but everytime I took it out to fly, it wouldn't arm or the VTX wouldn't work. This week I thought I had it sorted and took it out for the maiden. Plugged in a new 6S battery and got magic smoke. I think the FC was faulty - waiting to hear back from Heli-Nation. I do have another Glide frame on order that should arrive this weekend. I'm going to do a similar build but with a FlightOne H7 FC. I'll probably have that one in the air before I have a replacement Talon FC for this one.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
