TBS Source One Deadcat V3

The frame is a Pyrodrone version of the TBS Source One V3, and the arms are Deadcat style, 6mm in thickness. All of the internals, antennas, and props were ordered from either Pyrodrone or RaceDayQuads.

Using 6s LiPos with BrotherHobby 2806.5 1300 Kv Avenger motors, I set the pwm frequency to 48, Desync to the Blheli 32 default, and Thrust Linear to 25 in Betaflight. I followed UAVTech's tuning guide for 6" and greater kwads precisely. I followed Joshua Bardwell's guide for setting up GPS precisely as well. Bellow are links to both YouTube videos:

Build Notes:
M3 0.5 10mm Hex Head steel screws from Home Depot were used to mount the motors to the arms with the 3D printed skids.

I ordered 3D Prints from Brain3D. The GoPro Mount is for a Hero 8 set at 20 deg. Brain3D printed the Skids from the STL file I sent them. Below is the link to the Skids from Thingiverse (Thank you Milesy for the design and file):

For extra strength to mount the FC and ESC, I used M3 34mm Buttonhead screws. I was able to find these screws from Hobby King. To secure the motor wires to the frame, I used 3:1 3/4" heatshrink bought from Amazon.

I mounted my TBS Unify VTX parallel to the frame in a 3D printed shelf specifically designed for a Source One. I weaved the extra long TBS Crossfire antenna through the frame to obtain the correct position to connect to the receiver. I mounted the Rush microphone with doublesided tape behind the camera.

6s 1400 mAh Lipos-average 6.5 min.
6s 1800 mAh LiPos-above 8 min with light freestyle.

Total Flight Weight: 1,050.5g.
Dry Weight: 611.5g.

With my current VTX and Video Receiver set-up and the Micro TBS Crossfire unit transmitting 250mw , I have been able to fly out to 1.25 km without issues.

With the camera angle set to 20 deg, I feel I have plenty of control over the kwad for my flying style. I can reach adequate speeds while maintaining solid lines. The only downside to 20 deg is I have set my GoPro settings to wide angle vs. superview, otherwise I get just a glipse of those 7in. props in the shot. With hypersmooth switched to On, the wide angle footage still looks awesome.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
