cinewhoop 95mm

Over the past 3 years we have built many tiny quads with the purpose of carrying things like Airbot a2, Runcam split and naked gopros with the purpose of being able to fly very close to objects and people (I must be one of the very few idiots on this earth who has bought an airbot a2 camera).

From the very first flight with this setup it felt amazingly well compared to all so called cinewhoops we tried so far (including larger 4" ones with propeller ducts and full gopros). You don't get that tinywhoop feeling of being underpowered or yaw moving around by itself for no reason and you don't get that horrible noise done by larger ones with propeller ducts. It flies well enough to allow you to get the shots you want without disturbing the environment or the people around you that much. I am hoping that people will perceive this as a toy and not some professional equipment and thus ignore me and let me get shots that I would otherwise not be able to take.

It is currently carrying a naked hero6 which will soon be replaced by a naked hero8. The hero6 is being powered as if it had its own battery (not through the USB port) and we can use its WiFi to configure the camera settings without having to plug the back screen. Surprisingly, the gopro's main chipset doesn't heat up. Usually we had a heat radiator on the chipset but because it is now directly exposed to the front airflow it stays cold all the time. This stands to show that the most simpler solutions are the best.

The TBS Unify VTX and Crsf RX are simply amazing. They are extremely small and light and perform perfectly. I would have no worries taking this to 1-2km away form me if the flight time allowed it. The antennas available today are also amazing.

It has a total weight of 162g (including a 4s 450mah tattu lipo) and it flies for 4min indoor.

Here is some indoor test footage from my first flight with it:

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
