Sabotage RC Slatra Fleet

I have been flying for a little over a year and I am at a point where I needed to do something different than I have been to take my flying to the next level. So after listening to interviews from Vik FPV, Stingy, Mr. Steele etc... there was a consistent answer to the question of what advice would they give a pilot trying to improve, they all had the same answer, " Find equipment that you like and build two or three the same so you have consistency when you fly".

So I settled on the Sabotage RC Slatra frame. It is almost the exact same frame as the Armattan Badger, it just doesn't have the ti camera cage. I settled on this frame for a couple of reasons. #1- I liked my Badger but wasn't a huge fan of the camera cage. I thought I would change my camera angle a lot, but the fact of the matter is I have found my camera angle I like and I don't change it. #2- Price, I actually had enough spare parts that all I had to but was the top and bottom plates, a couple spare arms and of course Ummagrip and I could have 3 identical frames. #3- There is plenty of room in this frame so you don't have to work too hard to fit everything in.

All 3 frames are going to be built with the CL Racing F7 V2.1 FC and 45amp esc, RunCam Micro Eagle camera, Rush Tank Plus and Race VTX's, Xilo AXii MMCX antenna, R9m reciever, Ummagrip and 3d parts from Brain3d. The only thing that is not uniform is the motors. 2 builds have Hyperlite 2208.5 1922kv motors and 1 has iFlight Xing E 2208 1800kv motors. This difference is due to the fact that I already had the Xings and one quad is inevitably the crash test quad so that will be the one.

Update- So I have  made a few changes from the original builds. One build I put on 6" arms as I haven't run through all 3 builds in 1 day and it gives me an excuse to fly all three when I fly. I have also experimented with  receiver antennas. On the build with the Xing E motors, which seems to always fly the best, I am using the VAS Race antenna. It's a small antenna that I have heat shrunk to the side of the arm so it gets good coverage. It doesn't give great range but definitely enough normal flying, and I have the Rush Tank Race VTX so the video signal isn't as strong as the others that have the Tank Plus with 800mw of output power, and it's small and durable. I also am trying the VAS X Fire Pro antenna and I am going to put these on all of then as it really works well. I tested the range with the VAS and a new stock R9m antenna and they were identical. I had the solder on the Ipex connector but it's not a huge deal and is well worth the trouble to get a small durable antenna with excellent range.

I'm interested in what the furthest distance you'vebeen with that Xfire Pro antenna mounted like that?

I actually got good reception with it. I had the output set to 100mw and never had any issues when normal freestyle type flying. Definatly not as good of reception as a stock antenna but for the added durability it is definatly a viable option if not going long range.

Thanks man, yeah a return trip out from LR would likely prove interesting

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
