The RiskiX is our ultimate light weight 3″ racing frame.

The toothpick class is a very fast growing part in FPV racing and most of the frames are based on whoop style AIO flight controllers and ESCs. The TPU pod on those frames (including the StickiX TPU canopy) are lightweight but definitely lack of protection for the electronics inside. Over time, mechanical impact will result in defective components.

With this in mind, we designed the RiskiX as the ultimate 3" racing frame. The carbon pod offers a lot more protection to the electronics but still is soft mounted to absorb some of the kinetic energy in crashes. Also the pod can be flipped open by removing only 2 screws for fast access to the stack. The Arms are replaceable but very robust (3mm) for those small lightweight builds.

In contrast to many current “toothpick” style frames, the RiskiX features a 16×16 stack mounting pattern with the camera mounted in front of the stack. This allows for a slim aerodynamic profile and a similar look to 5″ racing frames. The stretchX geometry makes this little beast feel like big 5" racers.

On 3S this feels pretty good, 4S feels like a 5" racer running 6S lipos, crazy amount of power! Easily beats 5" racers on tight and small tracks

Frame features:

  • 135mm StretchX diagonal
  • 16×16 stack compatibility
  • full camera protection
  • replaceable arms
  • 3″ propeller size
  • weight: ca 21g with all 3D printed components
  • 3mm full 3K arm thickness
  • protective CFK pod (the pod is very stiff and will not bend (thus will protect damage all the electronics inside much better than TPU only))
  • foldable carbon pod
  • quick swap LiPo system
  • capacitor mount in the back
  • TBS XF race antenna mount

what does the frame weight without print or what is the weight of the print only?
fly as bad as a heavy 5inch?! "easyly beats a 5" on tight and small tracks" this means it fly better!

thanks mate! Frame only is about 12g and 21g including the 3D printed parts.

I def. prefer the Riskix over my 5" 4S setups cause you can feel the low weight of the RiskiX compared to 5". Mass inertia is much lower thats what allows my RiskiX lap times to be lower then the ones i manage with my 5" (i might not be the best pilot however ;D ). Our local "super pilot" beats every single 5" 6S pilot with his RiskiX, but his lap times are faster with 5" 6s. On open high speed tracks the RiskiX probably doesn't stand a chance however.

All in all, the RiskiX does fly amazing for what I can say (although this is more setup than frame related). But its always better to form your own opinion you know :P Cheers!

thanks for the reply.
i really like to try, but my priority at the moment is the new 4" t-mount props ( https://hqprop.com/hq-durable-prop-t4x25grey-2cw2ccw-poly-carbonate-p0213.htmlwith ) probably new 1306/1408 from emax or something near. i hope they will provide the speed to chease 5" unlimited ;-) much hope for nice performance anyway. i am searching an ul-frame for this, probably you will bring one?
this one with longer arms? i guess 16x16mm could give problems... at the moment i dont know a 16x16 electronic which could handle the ampdraw of a 1408.
a week ago i saw the racexmini live, very nice aswell, i like to own one anyway for another 4", but a little bit to durable-heavy for my plan of an ul-4" at the moment. if i could wish "racex mini-skinny 4inch" would be very nice.

Actually i have a few 4" arms for the RiskiX in stock for some testing. If you want to try i could prepare a 4" Riskix but you're probably right about the 16x16 stack being a limiting factor. However there's also a slighty different midplate for the Riskix which accepts whoop style aio's, so you could go with the beta 20amp for example. Let me know if you're interested :)

Awesome frame! (and build). I might just have to pick one of those up myself. I am assuming that there is enough room should someone wnat to use the succex vtx rather than the tbs one? What sort of weight are you looking at with all the parts, and all up?

FPVFrame.ch   Nov 19, 2019

Thanks! yes, three layer stacks also fits in the pod (you might need to trim a tad bit off the TPU fin but the cfk certainly allows three layer stacks). Full build weight is 75g (the blue one in the pics above) and 117g with a GNB 3s 520mAh / 129g with a GNB 4s 520mAh. If you have any further questions, shoot 'em :)

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
