Hayabusa 3in

I'm loving everything about this build except the Caddx Turtle. Sometimes the recordings are all choppy and the fpv feed is blurry trash! Runcam next time.

The frame is great, plenty durable with lots of space. I came out of a dive into a road sign and only bent the props, plus other assorted crashes where nothing happened. I didn't like the rx antenna tpu provided with the frame so I chopped it up and used it for mounting the camera. This allowed me to use smaller standoffs for a lowrider setup. The immortal-t antenna fits perfectly up front with a couple zip ties and contributes to durability in the case of head on crashes. The swept back h-style arms of the frame allow for more "glancing blows" rather than buckling arms.

Since I went with the Emax 1408s I had to try some new props. These motors use a t-style prop mount which means 1 gram less per motor. Most props in this category are made for smaller motors so there isn't as big of a selection compared to standard 3in props. Fortunately the HQ T3 tri-blades are perfect for the task and really push these motors to their potential. The Emax Avan Minis are great too. They're a bit more docile and quieter with more flight time.

The Diatone 20a stack is cheap, reliable, and just enough amps to handle these motors.

At first I was using an AKK FX3 Ultimate VTX but it was garbage. I've had a few of them and they are hit-or-miss. I swapped it out for a TBS 400mw which works much better.

The new Emax nano antennas are my new go-to. They're as good or better than the stubbies and pagodas while also being the lightest.

I've tried a few batteries and 850mah 4s seems to be the ideal size for ripping. 1050mah is a good choice for longer flights if you don't mind losing a little agility.

Nice build, those motors must have some crazy punch! I'm putting together my first quad and it's a Hayabusa 3 V2, too but with a Mamba F722 mini and Emax 1306 motors on 4S 650mAh... AUW is 218gr and it shoots to the sky like a rocket: https://photos.app.goo.gl/q5nmwvxUBqSvZUc76 (first test flight, still have some things to configure, like current sensing)

It's a great frame, I still have it. Bottom plate is cracked but still holds together well enough to fly.

1306 motors and 650 4s is a good combo. I'd be a little concerned with flight time though, if using a heavy camera like I did.

Yeah I'm not expecting long flight times with this one. It's a runcam split btw. I'll be posting it soon, gotta take it out for a shoot first.

hows the motors so far? When I bought my first set, they broke in weird ways and some wasn't even that bad. any thoughts?

The motors have been great. I haven't had any issues at all. They're a bit notchy compared to other Emax motors.

Weight pics added.

Really nice build and flight. What a great place to fly!

Is there any chance you could weigh this with and without the 4s 850? I'd love to get some sort of idea where my 3in build falls in line with other similar builds with regard to weight and I'm using the same lipo.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
