This quad is a test of how small, light motors perform on a very low weight 5" quad. The motors are Brotherhobby T2 1608s in 3200kv. I got them for half price during a clearance sale and that's what inspired me to build an ultralight 5". The motors weigh 22 grams each with very long wires, so I thought I could get the weight of the quad under 225g. I designed my own frame for this quad as I couldn't find any frames that I liked that would mount the motors and fit 5" props. The frame was cut by CNC Madness and it cost only $32.

The succex mini f4 stack has performed very well so far and it made it very simple to build this quad. The only soldering I had to do was for the motors, battery lead, camera, and receiver.

Dry weight of the quad is 203 grams. The frame itself weighs 60 grams. AUW with an RDQ 1300mah 4s is 387g.

frame looks dope. perfomance looks pretty good. how's efficiency?

Efficiency is pretty decent. It gets about the same amount of flight time as my heavy setup, but it's faster and is more responsive. Flying fast and going full throttle I can drain a 1300mah 4s in 2 minutes. If I fly normally it can go 3-4 minutes.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
