3" Red Black concept

I wanted to build small and slim 3" quad and I decided to use Alien frame for this build.
FC and ESC are installed side-by-side (not on top of each other) to make this build really slim.

I wanted to install FC and ESC side-by-side (which requires two 20x20 places), but this frame only had one 20x20 place. So I had to design additional 3D printed stands to make side-by-side installation possible. After these modifications distance between top and bottom plate is only 12mm.

I didn't paint the frame like I usually do (See my previous quads "Red-Black Tree" , "Bianco Arancione" or "Orange Pudang" ), but I did play around with colors red and black.

Technical details

  • Smartaudio used to control the VTX
  • XM+ with RSSI

  • Updated to Betaflight 4.1 and JESC. Also enabled RPM filters and did some overall PID tuning.

What size standoffs did you use?

YOOO THATS SICKKK i think i might use youre quad as a basis for mine!! its also cool that you used an eos2 because it does makes sense to use a 14x14 to make it slammed. Do you have a link to your 3d printed parts for the fc and camera mount?

Thanks :+1: . Just uploaded STL-files here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3654010 with instructions. Have fun building :)

You have a LOT of unsupported top plate that's likely to crack from the weight of the battery when you crash, but HOOOO-SHEET does she ever look goooooooood!

just dont crash, how hard can it be hahahah. Ive used the same frame before in a build i havent shown but its possible to put something above the boards so when the topplate flexes, it has soemthing to lean on. I havent broken any toplates so far, but i did wreck the arms ahhaha.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
