Caipirinha 2

After nearly 3 years of flying and testing, I finally decided to retire (for the most part) my TBS Caipirinha. I've had a lot of fun with it, and its really proven TBS Equipment in a long-range setting for me. So why not build the Caipirinha 2? :)

This is just a mockup for the meantime to organize everything.

  • I'm going with the PNP version of the caipirinha, because when it comes to building an endurance setup, it already checks all the boxes. Folding prop, efficient motor and ESC, etc.

  • I already have the groundstation and 2.4GHz Yagi, so I'll be following suit with the 500mw TBS Unify. 500mw is MORE than plenty of power for what this plane is capable of. Its likely that I'd still run out of battery anywhere before I'd run out of range.

  • Of course, crossfire- not even a question. I have a diversity reciever leftover, but otherwise, it costs $120. Despite their lack of durability, I'll be using the TBS tuned crossfire antennas on the RX.

  • FPV Cameras are nothing fancy now, so I'm just going to go for a high resolution 1200tvl camera. Hopefully I can see those power lines!

  • The Caipirinha 2 runs off a 6200mAh 4S LiPo battery.

total $529

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
