This is the prototype of the brand new AirBlade Intrepid V2 7 inch. It utilizes the same body as the 5 inch, but the arms are now single arms instead of dual arms design. Similar to the 5 inch version, the bottom plate has dual 30x30 stacks and 20x20 stacks, whichever you decide to use.

In this build, I use the BrainFPV Radix and Spedix GS40 4in1. I also heard good things about the ETHIX Konasty 2407 Moon Boot so I decided to put them on here. The motors are really smooth, the only complaint I have about this motor is that the wires are too short for 7 inch. I suspect they're short even for 5 inch. Hence you see that I had to use the TBS Racewire on the arm. Ideally I would want to not have to use any additional hardware here.

I intend to use up to 4000mah 4S on this build for more flight time. The top plate can comfortably take 2200mah 4S. So either I need to do double batts, or bottom mount a big 4000mah 4S.

In near future, I will be releasing 2x 3D pritned parts for this frame

  1. Antenna/GPS/XT60 mount on the back
  2. GoPro Hero7 mount on the front with less agressive angle for those who want to do more cinematic filming where the built in angle is a little more aggresive
  3. TBD - GoPro session mount with similar funciontality as the GoPro Hero 7 mount.

Do you have the dry frame weight?

unforutnately I don't have any spare to weigh right now, but it's 348g built, before batteries props and gopro. The 5 inch intrepid is 330g in comparison. Hope that gives you an idea

Thats pretty light! Is it gonna have thicker arms than the 5 inch version? (>4mm)

that's the weight with 5mm arm and 2mm bottom plate. The production model will have 6mm arm, 2.5mm bottom plate and 2mm everywhere else. Shouldn't add too much weight overall

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
