Long Range 6" Vector SE

After a painful loss of my first long range Vector, in the desert, I vowed to never go far out again without gps and proper buzzer. I built this Vector with the intent to use iNav, which is why I chose a FC with a barometer, instead of the Kiss/Steele PDB setup (like my 1st Vector) that this frame is designed for and added a gps/compass. After building, I initially configured it to use iNav 1.9 for its gps flight modes and it was awesome. Position hold and RTH worked beautifully. However, in its Acro mode I could not get it tuned to fly like a proper freestyle quad, which was disappointing. Shortly after, Betaflight finanlly released a new firmware 3.5 with Rescue Mode and I immediately flashed it to my FC. BF3.5 flew fantastic and after some tuning, I am really happy with the performance of this quad. The RTH feature of Betaflight Rescue Mode is not nearly as refined as iNav but in my testing, it gets the job done. The plan is to never rely on RTH and only have it as a backup option. Really what matters most for me to go far confidently is having a home arrow (to find myself) and gps coordinates (in case I crash) displayed on my OSD. These days, I regularly fly this quad up 1.5 miles out but 2 miles+ is achievable with the flight times I typically get on 1600mah 5S. Next plan is to strap a second (parallel) 5S to the bottom and go even further. I think the 6" Vector by Kinetic Aerial with Kiss or Betaflight is one of the best flying and sexiest freestyle frames available.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
