This build was a test build of a prototype Detroit Multirotor Company racing frame. It's a 3" stretched X using uni-arms. In this prototype, the arms are spread pretty far to give the props lots of room to breath. Roughly 160mm MTM.

By mounting the battery sideways, I can use it as a pivot that gives the quad the perfect launch profile.

The sidewalls are printed out of TPU. I chose this instead of a full on pod because the CF top provides better frame rigidity while still keeping most dust and debris out.

ESCs and FC were treated with Autobotix Drone Dry so that I could run in the rain. An especially handy feature in the fall and winter.

Odd, using a Spektrum rx. Curious to know how that works for you.

What are the FPV features you like?

I've seen pictures of setting VTX parameters from the controller. Their new receivers are coming with telemetry.

Yeah, those new receivers are tempting, but I'm waiting for a cheaper alternative. Would you change the VTX params via telemetry? That sounds neat, but with the right VTX/FC combo you can also change the channel via OSD.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
