SparroXs

I wanted to check out two things.
A stretched-X quad vs a true-X quad and the Racerstar BR 1507 - 3600 kV vs the HGLRC Flame 1407 - 3600 kV motors .
So I build two identical quads with the oh so sexy GEPRC Sparrow frame. The purple one is the stretched-X and the green one is the true-X.
I prefered the strechted-X and crashed the true-X (green) against a tree and replaced it for a stretched-X bottom.
A stretched-X flies much better in turns and is more stable on straight ends.
The difference between the Racerstar BR 1507 - 3600 kV vs the HGLRC Flame 1407 - 3600 kV motors was not noticable, they both perform great.
The GEPRC Sparrow frame not only offers lot's of space but also very good camera protection and the aluminum cage is very strong.

How do you find the Quelima Mini cam? Seen these on a few builds and wondered how they compare to a GoPro? :D

Well, you can't really compare them. The SQ12 is a $ 13,- camera, but for the money and taken into consideration, that one crashes, it's not bad for the money. In the parts list is the url to get one. Tou can check this video out to see how the quality is.

I started to think that I prefer stretched X frames but of course, I am too lazy/bored to do a comparison like you did. Thanks!
Now, I actually suspect that it's more about distance between motors than true vs stretch configuration. How would it fly if you increased width along with the length keeping it true X? Take the Acrobrat, for example, which is a true (I thought it was a stretch) but it's a huge frame for 3-incher. It's so stable and controllable. So it would be interesting to find a frame with both 3 and 4 inch replaceable arms and see what effect the size has. I know, I know bigger is better 🤭 but in this case it could be scientifically proven!

Some buy a 6" frame and fly it with 5" props. I think all frame forms fly different, for example an H-frame or a deadcat. But I like the streched X's, you instantly notice the difference. I just got a super stretched X in today.

I am planning next 3" build on a 4" frame. Yes, 3" props on the 160mm frame is the same idea

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
