Meet Woodsy your friendly neighborhood bug type quad. I wanted a forest flyer a step up from a Whoop style and this is what I came up with.

Not much to say about this one. I built it using spare and cheap parts and it ended up being a Babyhawk in a Toad 90mm frame. The props im currently using (Gemfan 2035) really don't have enough grip on these slower motors so I'll be trying out the Gemfan 2040 triblades when they come in the mail. I'll posts updates as needed in case anyone out there wants to build something similar.
Of course 2" prop screw patterns don't fit the Emax 1104 5250kv motors but they do work great just pressure fit. I also hear if the props do slip you can put a small drop of super glue in the prop hole to tighten up the fit but i have never had to do that.

7-23-18 Update:
Now running Woodsy on 3s 450mAh batteries. This little guy has some mad punch now. I'll be sure to add more videos soon. There were some pretty bad oscillations at hover so I just had to do a quick tune for 3s. Basically just had to lower P and knock 2 points off D, while I was in there I jacked up I to really stiffen up the movement, The motors are still running cool at 3s too.

8-5-18 Update.
I tried out the Gemfan 2040 props and they were just awful on these motors. Half the punchout power and half the battery life. For now Gemfan 2035 props are still the best option.

Feel free to ask any questions down in the comments.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
