Lil MoH - F3 Super-X

My first brushless quad was the Super-X 1S. Learned about building and tuning, and it was fun to fly, but alas the FC in it was a basic NAZE, and it just could not handle the newest Betaflight any more (the gyro can barely do 1 khz) and the escs had proprietary firmware which was very diffiult to get on BLHeli to at least do OneShot. Wanted to keep my old friend flying, and make it far better than it ever was, so I decided to rebuild it but with a new AIO F3 FC. The frame and motors were still fine. Needed to keep it light if I was going to keep it 1S, and I found the perfect AIO F3 + ESC combo to do it for just over $20. It was a bit of a challenge since the frame had no 16X16 mouting holes for this FC, and I had to figure a way to mount the FPV and Receiver gear above. Glad I did..full FPV with OSD and on a F3 with Multishot. The shaped foam (mohawk) on top makes great roll protection for the cam. Meet Lil MoH... :-D

How well has that Fusion X3 AIO worked out for you? The price is right and it looks like a good option...

It works great and flys fantastic. I had to drill new holes in the Super-X frame for a 16x16 board...but its been my favorite daily "fly anywhere" quad. When soldering this board - be careful not to use to hot a solder iron or it will kill the F3 - work quick ;). Other than that make sure to up the max battery voltage to 4.4V or your battery beeper wont work right. I also found a way to use tri-blades on these motor...flies on rails. I use thin fishing line and loop it through 1 of the spokes on motors - see pic.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
