Overall Build

My latest freestyle build, "The Flipmode". This quad comes in at 362 grams, a healthy weight for someone like me who likes that hefty feeling in the air. I chose the DYS combo to get a super clean stack and super easy to use, although i had a couple issues with it. I blew up the first one the antenna connector shorting out something and created some of that lovely magic smoke. The second one i received i had some weird issue where the quad was yawing left and when i looked in betaflight it was as if the motors were pulsating in a series of 1,2,3,4 i gave them a quick re-calibrate and they were fine.

Cable Sleeving

In order to get the super clean arms.

  • Cut the the cable sleeving using a hot knife to melt the sleeving as you cut, this seals the ends and stops them from fraying whilst you are building.
  • Cut two pieces of heatshrink about 1cm long for each motor. Remove the motor and slide the cable sleeving and slide it as far down the motor cables as you can, then grab one of your pieces of heat shrink and close up the end
beside the motor, remount the motor.
  • place the second piece of heatshrink so that half is on the cable sleeving and half is on the cables then shrink it. (this holds the end and stops it from fraying).

In see the props are mounted reversed (of that in Betaflight is default). Any tips why?

How is it getting the x6b to fit in today’s modern frames? I have an older style build using the x6b and have been looking to go to frsky when I get a chance just because of the receiver size

I don't mind them, they are about the same height so as long as you have space they are okay, I just keep it in mind when buying a frame, although I haven't had an issue so far and I have built some pretty small frames.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
