else you could do

  if (%t != $null) { halt }

  if (%CMD == !time) { msg # The time is $time(HH:nn:ss) | unset %CMD | halt }
}

^ That will work...

But code 1 should also work if you ask Me... ooO( But then again... I am then NUB )
