Works fine, but perhaps you can make the $2- a $1- so that you can get a better idea of the context. You could also make the \'if ($me isin $1-)\' to a \'if ($me isin $1-) && ($chan != $active)\', so that it doesn\'t display in the channel when you already see the text.
