Okay, this game is just driving me crazy, http://gabrielecirulli.github.io/2048/ - I've yet to get 2048 and my best score is 12644. My best advice is to avoid using the up arrow as much as possible.
Once I get 1024 I end up with too many 128's or 64's which take all my space. I need a better way to consolidate without mixing 2's with my higher numbers.
Well your advice has panned out thus far. I've only gotten to the 1024 block with a high score of 13612.
