Not really. For those that know javascript, what that article outlines should already be known. I've ran into similar writings here recently and, as a javascript dev, I get the impression this springs from people learning a library but not the language. IE: "I know jQuery....but I don't know javascript". So my response to the article, but not you, is "meh".
Pretty useful for any web developer.
