My next project will be to build a new private messaging system. The current private messaging is handled by phpBB2 which is quite old and difficult to maintain. My goal is to completely remove phpBB2 so we're no longer bound by its outdated infrastructure and design.
I wish it were that easy. Lots of details to consider. I'm using the thread system to handle messages, but I need to treat them a little differently keeping them private between both parties.
Had to make a few infrastructure changes to the way activities are handled to prepare for this. Now that those are out of the way I can proceed with this project.
