Python is a good language to learn.
A friend asked me a question so I downloaded python and had a quick look at their issue and I fell in love :P
Python's alright. To me it feels more like a secondary, or complimentary language, to a more established one.
I guess that depends on what you use it for; I'm finding it great for Euler
