Simple PM Blocker

By xDaeMoN on Apr 17, 2005

This blocks any pm that you will receive. A window called PM Blocker shows you the log of people who and when they sent you the pm. Also from what network they are from. To enable/disable, right-click in any window and select "Enable/Disable PM Blocker". Copy/Paste to your remotes section (ALT-R -> FILE -> NEW)

I have the pm blocker as it was written, but I need to see what is being said as I am a dj on an internet radio station that I own and operate. I don\'t want to be missing important pm\'s from listeners or prospective dj\'s.

any help you could give would be grately appreciated.

works great to get rid of those annoying people asking you why they\'re banned (when the fact is, they just don\'t read the kick msgs or try understanding it.) lol.

This is good, but you should have it write in a log file what the person says, not in the @ window but in a .txt file :o!

xDaeMoN, this is one of the most handy snippets I\'ve ever used. Before this, I created a simple one which consists of only blocking the PM, and giving an automatic response. By far the best feature of this, is the ability to see WHO has PMed you and at WHAT time. Moderating a chat isn\'t easy with \"ASL\", and \"HEY\" all the time.. sighs. You\'ve made it that much easier. Also, the \"Enable/Disable\" feature is easy-to-use, and works perfectly. Congrats.

One thing I would like to request (if possible) is to ability to give on exception to blocking PMs, more specifically, the server\'s services (CS, MS, NS, etc.) If this is not possible, no worries. I realize Yoinx has created one with that feature, but I much prefer yours.

Keep up the great work, xDaeMoN.

(PS- Yes, I DID create an account just to congratulate you on a job-well-done.)

You can try Yoinx\'s snippet. Check his Query/PM Blocker snippet on his profile.

do you know other mIRC snippet where i can block all PMs and where i have a White list? Like block all PMs except from the users i put in the list. Is something like the Ignore List... But i want to, when a person is in my pvt, my script sends to that person a message created by me saying the pvt is blocked...

Sorry for the bad english... \'coz is not my main lang =)

This was just requested by a friend and I\'m just sharing it. Some people do want to block all pms. I thought about that & I know you also have one.

you should really have an allowed list (i have on ewith a hash table by address, just needs to be cleaned up some if you want it.) so that it doesnt block pms from your friends. or add the -f flag to the echo so it flashes the custom window.
