ChanServ Register extention v 5.0

By Weasel on May 10, 2009

Simple, all you do is add this to your MAIN nick that you want to register it with, log in again as a differant nick, and type !register

Whats new in this version:
-now responds *****ONLY***** to Querys (/query <botname>)
-Now can set the channel password and description say /query <botname <pass> <description>

ENTER THE BOT's PASS in the part of the script,

on *:text:!register*:?: {
  /join $2 | msg ChanServ REGISTER $2 $3 $4 | msg NickServ Identify <botpass> | msg ChanServ SET $2 Founder $nick | msg $nick $2 has been Registered with ChanServ with discription $4 and password $3
}

the point of this snippet is so that the entire chan that u typed that into knows the chan pass?

mybe this belongs in ? not # :/

Maaaaybe, you should look at the update -.-

except for the fact that i posted that before it was updated i might have taken offense to that. maaaayyyybbbeee next time you should post something usefull? -.-

Sunslayer, it SETS the password AS password, not $3, the desciption is Description.

either way weasel i see absolutely no point in this snippet. an alias would be much better and in one line

register msg chanserv register # $1 $2-

dont see why someone would need this tho....

also:

why would you want the entire chan to know the pass?

As opposed to /query Chanserv !register #chan pass desc it's the same thing..

 Respond
Weasel   -  May 10, 2009

as isn't it simpler to say /query Botname !register #chan pass desc

why would you want to PM your info to a bot rather than directly to Chanserv? The bot owner will just end up having everyone's account info..

You've been suggested time and again that using multiple text events in your scripting fashion is superfluous. Make use of If-then-else statements if possible.

I think what you want is a input event meaning you on the same account has to type !register then you will join the channel and register it to. Also you could add a check for the # before the channel name.
