Unit Circle

By spitfire3292 on Nov 14, 2007

I decided to make a very simple picwin involving the unit circle. This can be very useful if you are taking any form of geometry or trigonometry.

There are several bugs that are the fault of mIRC's $atan and $tan identifiers. Apparently Khaled wanted to make its own algorithm for it so it's slightly off. For instance on the X,Y graph. sqrt(2)/2 , sqrt(2)/2 should be 45 degrees, yet it is 35.565. Why it is so ridiculously off I have yet to figure out. Also because the picwin must refresh each time you edit something, it came out a bit choppy. But because it's so simple it doesn't effect its usage at all.

Anyway, to use it just type /unitcircle or right click anywhere and click "Unit Circle" and to exit simple exit out of the dialog or window.

I hope atleast a couple people enjoy it and/or find it useful. Like I said, hopefully I should be able to add to this in the future to make it more useful and (possibly)? more appealing to the eye.

EDIT:

Added tick marks on the x and y planes for better visuals. I fixed the X,Y's so they evaluate correctly now Thanks jaytea for pointing out this simple mistake. Now sqrt(2) sqrt(2) is 45 degrees :) I also added an adjacent line which is light blue. I would still like to add arc's and reference angles.

EDIT2: I added arc/rotation angles. Now all I need to add are reference angles which should be simple. Thanks to Mpdreamz for helping me with the rotation angles.

Hehe. You will by the end of the year or you will in trig def. It should prove useful to many in trig or pre-calc.

Well if you\'ve taken geometry or trigonometry you will have learned about the unit circle and this deals with that. If you haven\'t taken geo or trig it\'s basically useless lol.

Yeah, it gives errors a lot. It\'s not the best scripted but it gets the job done. It\'s a bit sketchy as well. This was my first picwin so it wasn\'t the best. Looking forward to updating it in the future. Sorry if you dont like it :\
