SearchIRC channel lookup.

By BackoffJackson on Jan 21, 2007

This is really nothing special it is for a bot, I got bored so I wrote it, it makes it semi easier to find channels.

Example: !Channel GamersUnited

on *:text:!Channel *:#:{
  notice $nick SearchIRC channel result for $2-: http://searchirc.com/irc- $+ $2- $+ -1
}

Pointless, maybe you should learn SOCKETS and make this better.. (Grab information from the site)

Yes, FURBY I pasted this script to share it, though. ZabuzaMomochi: Thank you for the comment, but someone else already told me to do that, in a less rude manor.

Gah, I told you, I do not need to impress you people by making super-duper script. I make many scripts, and the fact I am sharing them with you should be enough, like my name says, Back-Off-Jackson. =P.

^_^ so if we share constructive criticism does that mean we are \'super-duper\'?

BackoffJackson..... have you read the comment rules, always be CONSTRUCTIVE..... Zab is being constructive and you just knocked it back..... so i think seriously, you should just delete them comments that offend you.....

LOL. OKAY. At least people can give you ideas on how to make this script better, iv gotten no ideas, which is why i posted the script in the first place. It seems you guys are losing your ability to read, or at least most of you.

What? Oh, I forgot to mention, when you look up the channel, don\'t use # before the name.

Very true, but, this was not meant to be SCRIPT-O-ROMO 5000 DELUX EDITION, it is simply not worth it.

It\'s not \"nearly impossible\" its completely plosable as long as it doesn\'t effect their bandwith to badly and isn\'t used for maltious purposes

I will not go to such lengths for a simple code, it would be nearly impossible as it is to recieve permission for access to the SearchIRC database.

Kinda on the Mediocre side as far as the code goes. It does to the job by getting the user some url to the site but it would be nice if you could actually make the script check to see if the URL A) exists and B) have the code retreive the data from the site (with the permission of the owners of the site that is)
