Sanyo Easy Street NVM-4070 Portable GPS Car Navigator with Text-to-Speech, Bluetooth, 4" 16:9 Wide Screen Touch-Screen LCD, MP4 Video Player
This gps has been unfairly criticized based on user error or unreasonable expectations.

Yes the date/time must be reset when the main battery if off but no big deal as the gps resets the date and time itself. I found the voice command volume to be quite adequate even with two people talking in the car. I actually had to turn the volume down. Street names and exits are projected on the display assuming one has looked at the directions then its announced when to exit - if the unit is set for female voice TTS then it says the actual street name or number. I contacted customer service by email they responded within 24hrs and were very helpful and stated updated maps will be out at the end of this year. I did get a map update CD with my 4070. Also Sanyo emailed me again to verify that I was satisfied with their response.

I think its a cool gps unit for the money I paid ($189) especially with all the accessories included. Reading the reviews of Garmin and TomTom it seems the Sanyo performs

Sanyo Easy Street NVM-4070 Portable GPS Car Navigator with Text-to-Speech, Bluetooth, 4" 16:9 Wide Screen Touch-Screen LCD, MP4 Video Player
This GPS had to be the worst one i have yet to use. I used this unit for about a week and i just had to return it. First of all the system crashed consistently. The video playback is terrible, good luck finding the right video and audio bitrate. The Bluetooth was horrible because it doesn't connect to any Smartphone (Windows based phone). This is how i would list the pros and cons:

Pros
1) Shiny sleek black look
2) Able to use a HCSD cards (I bought the 8GB).
3) Bluetooth, video and music playback, realtime traffic
4) Comes with wall and car charger (very nice).

Cons
1) Crashes all the time. Imagine your on the road and this unit dies on you're with system or application failed.
2) The windshield bracket is HUGE. The bracket is heavier than the GPS unit.
3) Video and audio britrate is hard to figure out. Unless this system doesn't have enough power to keep the audio and video sync.
4) No map updates.
5) Software is not for Macs
6) The Voice (TTS)that pronounces the streets and exits is

Harman Kardon GPS-510 4 Widescreen Portable Navigation + Audio + Video with Text-To-Speech
Some of the bad reviews almost scared me away. I bought this unit anyway. I like it. Easy to use, and it is easy to program in destinations. I'm impressed with the software. Solid unit!

Garmin n?vi 650 GPS Receiver with 4.3" Widescreen and Text to Speech
All I can say is...WOW! Right out of the box this unit worked perfect. The screen is big and bright and the larger keyboard made making changes simple. It has so many features...for the money, you can't beat it. Of course I was lucky enough to get it on sale. As your driving down the road it even shows lakes and ponds that are coming up. Definately one of the best things I have purchased in a long time. Now, I have only had it two months...but so far, wow!

Sanyo Easy Street NVM-4070 Portable GPS Car Navigator with Text-to-Speech, Bluetooth, 4" 16:9 Wide Screen Touch-Screen LCD, MP4 Video Player
I often rely on Amazon reviews before purchasing products, so here is our turn to contribute.

We have owned & used this product for 6 months.
We had read some good reviews of the product earlier & were motivated to purchase it for many of its features, including the traffic service. I liked that we did not have to purchase an extra antenna as it was already included. (the funny thing is that we haven't turned on the service yet....so can't comment on it)

My husband is an actor with lots of auditions all over the place, so thought it would be helpful to have a navigation system (& it has been!). Also his greatest nightmare is getting stuck in traffic & being late for a performance (hence the desire for a traffic service).

We had become accustomed to Hertz's Neverlost prior to buying this system & possibly would have stuck with that had I known the manufacturer (which is Magellan)

I'll list some of the pros and cons that we have experienced and then I will comment on some of the other

Great product but I can't find a replacement wall charger. Google search doesn't cut it & Sanyo site doesn't even acknowledge having a GPS much less the indicated model.

Garmin n?vi 650 GPS Receiver with 4.3" Widescreen and Text to Speech
I have a factory installed GPS unit in my Honda Accord. To me, the Nuvi is not as user friendly as the Honda unit. I am sure that part of the reason is my familiarity with the Honda system. However, I was familiar with the operation of GPS units when I got the Nuvi so it was easy to transition to the Nuvi.. It is a usable, reliable unit and it was rated number 2 when I searched the Consumer Reports online reviews. The Nuvi 750 was number 1. I am satisfied with it, but I will replace it in a couple years when improved units become available.

Harman Kardon GPS-510 4 Widescreen Portable Navigation + Audio + Video with Text-To-Speech
Bought this for my husband for Christmas. We've used it quite a bit and we're really pleased with its functionality. Frankly we've only really used the GPS function but I've played a bit with the others and I'm always meaning to investigate them fully but haven't yet. So far we have no issues with this unit and we enjoy having 'Fred' (that's what we call him) along for the ride. Of course one of our favorite games is to go a different way than Fred wants us to and listen to him get 'frustrated'....so we annotate his directions ..family fun in 2008 :)

Sanyo Easy Street NVM-4070 Portable GPS Car Navigator with Text-to-Speech, Bluetooth, 4" 16:9 Wide Screen Touch-Screen LCD, MP4 Video Player
I've been using this gps for a month now and personnally I do believe this is the best gps for the price consider its operation and features.
I got this from Frys electronics for $200
I also owned a garmin C340,which is quite old.I will try to be more specifics on the major features.
1)the gps on the sanyo is super quick,it reroute instantly without recalculating, the signal is allways there even indoor,I never experienced a signal lost with the sanyo, while it occured quite often with the garmin.
2)bluetooth works flawslessly with my sanyo phone,u can import phone book, edit etc...,u can call POI directly with the sanyo, read its description.
3)mp3 player works perfectly,u can listen to it thru the built in speaker or your car stereo using the fm txmitter, try different channel for best sound, and look like the gps have to be mount directly above the stereo unit for best sounding
4)video player works really good, but u need to convert your video files to mp4 format because this is the only format

Sanyo Easy Street NVM-4070 Portable GPS Car Navigator with Text-to-Speech, Bluetooth, 4" 16:9 Wide Screen Touch-Screen LCD, MP4 Video Player
If you want to run the risk of no customer supports with your expensive GPS navigation system, you can simply go to buy a Sanyo NVM-4070. Any questions you have, you can call 1-800-421-5013, after waiting for over 30 minutes, you can get the answer like this "Sanyo doesn't provide any updated software for fixing these issues, you can just use it as is or return it to the store." It is very surprised why Sanyo did release such kind of product to the market even if they do not want to provide any technical supports ?

The critical issue is that: there are only 3 so-called Voice Skins (English only): Female with Text To Speech (TTS), Female without TTS, Male without TTS. The fatal problem is that when you select the Female with TTS, the Volume is too low even if you set to the Maximum value. It is very hard to hear the prompts when you are driving on the way.

There also have following minor issues:
1. Compass display is too small and too low. Especially when driving to East or South direction,

I used the system on holidays in the canadian rockies and it worked great. The only fault I found was the instructions did not give enough detail for this 0ld fella. Thanks

Garmin n?vi 650 GPS Receiver with 4.3" Widescreen and Text to Speech
EAsy to use out of the box. I have a factory unit in my Caddy STS I compared the routes on a trip, i liked the way the Garmin took me. I would like the Garmin to tell me the name of the street I'm on, the Caddy does that. The maps are large and easy to glance at. I wanted this unit because I have a classic car and a pick-up. I got the MP3 player in this unit for the classic car. I also purchased a second mount from the GPS store with a carry case to go from the pick up to the classic car . You need to purchase SD card for large amounts of music

Garmin n?vi 650 GPS Receiver with 4.3" Widescreen and Text to Speech
Bought the Garmin Nuvi 650 because we travel a lot for business and pleasure. On our most recent trip from Denver to Houston the 650 performed GREAT!!! Easy to enter your destination, recalculates quickly if you go off track, hotel and restaurant features work well, trip calculator and other features make the unit outstanding. Especially like that the unit "talks" to you. For the price we paid at Overstock.com you can't beat this one. GET IT!!!

Garmin n?vi 650 GPS Receiver with 4.3" Widescreen and Text to Speech
I opted for the nuvi 650 rather than the nuvi 660. I didn't need the blue tooth or the FM receiver so why spend the extra money?? I've had only good experiences with this unit. It works well for me! I also purchased the friction mount (you got to have this when switching vehicles), and the leather carrying case. These two accessories are a "must have" and made my nuvi 650 complete. All in all, you can't go wrong with this GPS. Highly recommended!

Garmin n?vi 650 GPS Receiver with 4.3" Widescreen and Text to Speech
We purchased the Garmin Nuvi650 in February 2008. We had previously had the Garmin IQ3600. The Nuvi is so much easier to operate and we like the 4.3 inch screen. The only negative that I can think of is the fact that you cannot delete single addresses because you have to clear ALL of them. Not a big deal, we just put the ones we use often in Favorites. We will never be without a Garmin!

Garmin n?vi 650 GPS Receiver with 4.3" Widescreen and Text to Speech
We are so pleased with our purchase of the Garmin Nuvi 650. This was our first time buying a GPS device and after reading the various reviews for this product, decided to get this one. The price was really good and we received it in just a few days. Overall we are quite pleased with how it operates and feel it's a good buy.

I read a lot of lesser reviews and they seem to have fixed most of the problems I've read about or those people just didn't understand how to do what they wanted it to do.

I can scan out and move the screen around to see the whole route. I can set one way point on the way to a destination though it's easier to do just one leg of the trip at a time.

downside
It likes big roads and does not like the smaller roads even though they may be faster. I have not figured out how to easily change a route when it tells me to go on one road but maybe I want to stay off the highway today. It always tells me to do a u turn or get back on route.

I'll figure out a way to fix this but it may be more work than what I need since I usually know these areas better than it does. It worked great on long trips where I did not know where I was. It did try to send me on one off ramp that did not exist off the Blue ridge Parkway. It was a bridge over another road and I had to double back to get onto the road. Minor

Garmin n?vi 650 GPS Receiver with 4.3" Widescreen and Text to Speech
This is a solid Gps unit that does everything it says it will do and it does it well. It has the larger screen but is thin enough to carry in your pocket. It has loads of features but not blue tooth for phones. Most people I know with the blue tooth say it does not work well on a Gps unit.

Words cannot express how pleased I’ve been with this product. Not only is it easy to set up (maybe 5 minutes max), it is intuitive to use – don’ need a manual. It acquires the satellites quickly and makes route adjustments faster than any other GPS I’ve used. The features are great. Favorites are easy to set up and the ability to “find a place of interest” (i.e. elementary schools, restaurants, etc.) allows you to take off somewhere without even needing an address (for most public locations of course). The battery life is great – charge it once a week and the screen is clear and bright.
