I purchased this from costco, installed it in about 15 minutes. Program is super easy to run, very intuitive. I am using the product for my small business to do away with all the paper that accumulates. I loved this version so much, I purchased the 4.0 upgrade yesterday and within three hours gave up on the 4.0, uninstalled it and went back to the 3.0 version. The 3.0 version is much easier and faster to use. You can scan multiple pages for one receipt, not so on the 4.0 version. The 4.0 version was cumbersome, not as intuitive and much slower from scan to file. I will happily stay with the 3.0 version. UPDATE I have reinstalled 4.0 and am very happy now! I was using 3.0 and scanning a ton of documents, I was using the smart scan, which was fine, but limited to 50 sheets before you have to file the documents. Since I am scanning in hundreds of pages, I thought I would give 4.0 another try. With the 4.0 Quick Scan I have unlimited scans before I have to file the documents, receipts,

I've been told for months that NeatReceipts update ($20 cost to existing customers for version 3.0) would have better exporting to Quicken. Specifically I'm disappointed that MEMO data (you know - that line that has been on checks for 100 years now) does not get included in exported data. After finding that was not true, I called again and was told that the newest version 4.0 (another $30 --am I an idiot or what--) would definitely include complete data export that I need (helpful for IRS audits--the last 3 years now--God help me). 4.0 ALSO DOES NOT do what they claim. Unfortunately I really need that MEMO info, which is why I bother to put it in the field.
NR designers are not aware that people might want to use the most basic of information and they are the ones who decide what information will be exported for Quicken. Oh, and they not only promise to include basic changes in future updates (and charge for them)--and then fail to do so-- they are HORRIBLE at even putting out updates.

I've been very pleased with the quality of the scanner itself. Just a couple of years ago I purchased a similar type portable scanner for over twice the price but was never happy with it. Documents would always get skewed going through the scanner due to a weak feed system. It is for this reason that I still give this scanner props in spite of what others have said.
I think I would have been far more upset had I purchased NeatReceipts for the entire package and the promise of a system that is supposed to help me organize my documents and keep track of all my receipts with ease. I think the makers of this product had a good idea -- I only wish they would have put a little more research and testing into the software portion of the product. The user interface is confusing, and it lacks the kinds of configuration options that most users would expect to find in a software package that promises so much. I had to search through the entire menu three times before I could believe that there
