This is a translation tool set I created to translate between English and Al Bhed, the language of the Al Bhed from Final Fantasy X.
The first function in the script is the translation alias /albhed. Using this you can translate any string of text after the command from English to Al Bhed. This is for those who are not fluent enough to type it themselves. The only real problem currently is that my translator does not recognize names, and as any FFX advocate knows, you're not supposed to translate names.
The second function opens a window and translates all incoming text to and from Al Bhed/English. I was unable to make it recognize the language differences, so it translates every line twice, but both lines are clearly marked so you won't get confused as to which is which, it is merely up to you to decide which to refer to when appropriate.
Note, I created this quite awhile ago, and am just now uploading it here... So yeah, just thought I'd say.
Well ACTUALLY calling that "flaming" would be a gross over statement because frankly... that was a disgrace.
Also on a serious note: Why call yourself Lucius? it almost sounds seductive in a "I want your rod, dude" kind of way. Feel free to make your own connections there as well.
And I'm judging since you actually took offense to my comment that you are in fact a nerd yourself who enjoys unsafe amounts of gaming and watching gratuitous amounts of porn each and EVERY day. Am I right?
I dont post to flame unless someone like yourself is asking for it ;]
@FDSuprema If your looking to challenge yourself further you could make a defining text event, instead of having a separate window interpret all the text, you could have it replace all incoming text with your 'Al Bhed' translation.
Example:
instead of "text" in the respective channel window
[11:20] Text
It would replace "text" with the proper translation in the respective channel.
[11:21] (Al Bhed Translation of "text")
Nerd Alert! WEE WOO WEE WOO. Lol
On a serious note: Why make a translator to a language in a game? Serves almost no need other than to broadcast unmentioned characteristics about yourself over IRC.. :/ In which the previous alert would come in handy for those individuals witnessing this travesty lol.
On a serious note: why call yourself SunnyD? Is it to give adults a better understanding of your unmentionable characteristics?
Because SunnyD summarized is: designed to be as appealing as possible to children but actually harmful for them. (make your own connections)
And because I don't just post to flame...
I like it FDSuprema, good random script to keep for those FF conversations. (Which happens more often than not among gamers.)
Maybe a word check against a list of names, along with an if (ison) would help to skip names used frequently.
I actually coded it way before I had a full grasp on how to use aliases, it never really crossed my mind to modify it in that way. I just tested that out, and really like how the functions were changed. I think I'll play with it a bit and update here in a little. Thanks, napa182; of course, I'll credit you for redoing alot of it, thanks. XD
And, in hindsight, I should have posted it as a snippet. It's a little late now, though, so I'll keep that in mind next time. :P
lol @ SunnyD
@FDSuprema it would have been better to post it as a snippet rather then a script.
you could clean it up a bit
