If his is not used on a channel, will it not call an error?

I believe using $$chan will make it where a channel must be active

He is running the alias off of a nick in the nicklist.

Use menu nicklist and $$1 instead of * and $1. This will make the aliases run only if a nick is selected.

AmytiX: using the == means it must be *.com or whatever is there. You should use something like iswm.

You should use variables such as %var $+ $chan and so on to make it work in multiple channels.

Known, they shouldn't be overwritten due to mIRC naming the timer the next available sequential number.

jethro, using $regml in that case is rather a waste when you could just use $1 == start. It is a real byte saver

Rather than messaging the active window, you should message the $chan. The active window could be a completely different chan then wanted.

Sure everybody has their own coding styles, but if you use an else { if(...) { ... } } why not just use elseif? Coding style.does not mean bad coding practice. Otherwise nice code.
