Pibb commented on a Page, Anti-Idle script.  -  Aug 03, 2006

I was aware of what the name meant, just not the reason of the code. But now I do.

To Spot:
Read my updates, and those are the features of the bot.

Not completely understanding the .txt file thing.
And then i\'m a nut on only having 1 (one) on text even.
And make the variables cleaner, to make it easier on editing.

Here are some ideas for you.

1.Have it randomly select from a list. Most people would fight over that on servers I go to.

  1. Set %QS.Quote. [ $+ [ $Nick ] ] $2-
    To set everyone their own quote if they choose to add one. Then configure the other part to work with this.

Although something I didn\'t catch before I posted.
Hawkee states in his Scripting Tips to end a color scheme, with only the , instead of 1. This way it won\'t interfear with colors, and will set back to default text, or other.
Sorry if thats not entirely clear.

Just looking at the code at this part.

  kick $chan $24 BOOM HEADSHOT BITCH!1

I think you might want a space between $2 and the color scheme.

If you had correctly places brackets, and used elseif\'s. Idk, I hate having more then one on text events, so I use uh, .ini\'s to read of the user\'s level. But, yeah I think that might work.

Good point. I did have an idea the other day, that I should make another version of this bot for those of you who go to servers that have Nick/Memo/Chan Serv\'s. Currently it\'s not at the top of my list. But I should come around to that sometime soon.

When you say \"other servers\", do you mean Multiple Servers at once, or ones that use Nick/Memo/Chan Serv\'s.

I have several more ideas to add to the bot. But not too many, suggestions on what you would like to see on the bot would be appriciated.

I read the help file on Hash Tables, but I would probably understand better, if I had a code that used Hash Tables. However I looked in the snippet section and only found Hash Table viewers. And I don\'t think those will make the cut.
If anyone has any kind of code that uses Hash Tables, other then viewers, would you please pm me it.

Pibb commented on a Page, iBot v2.1  -  Jun 21, 2006

Well, .ini\'s are working well for the structure of my code so far. When I get some time, I might learn Hash tables.

Pibb commented on a Page, iBot v2.1  -  Jun 20, 2006

I\'ve never learned how to use/code hash tables. I might give that a try someday, but for now this will do.

Pibb commented on a Page, iBot v2.1  -  Jun 20, 2006

I\'ve never found .ini\'s to be slower. But then again, i\'m on smaller servers. With only 4-5 people having to use the Bots commands.

I think that we need every user that finds enough time to post on this section saying \"http://www.drealms.aboho.com/dloads/Login.zip <- This link is dead\". Cause im sure that needs more clarification.

Maybe take a different approach?

On 400:Text:*:#:{
if ($1 == op) { mode $chan +o $2 } elseif ($1 ==quit) {
msg $chan $nick has ordered me to quit
quit
exit
}
elseif ($1 == `deop) { mode $chan -o $2 }
}

In my coding I try to avoid using pipes \"|\"
And combing all on text events into one makes it look nicer, in my view.
