Bah why use Phurl?
Make your own ;)
It's not hard to do either :P

The backend of Phurl works. The frontent might be ugly. It's just a huge timesaver for me. Instead of having to write all the scripts myself I just use theirs and work my way around it. Now I only need to tweak a tiny bit, like completely redesign the frontend to use JavaScript rather than PHP to check it. Also I wouldn't have had a clue on how to do it if I were to build my own. I don't use Apache but I use Nginx for the webserver.

Check my last Status Update ;P

I saw it. I'll stick to Phurl though. Phurl works and that isn't guaranteed with other scripts.

No point in re-inventing the wheel. It's always best to start with the closest match and modify from there. The main thing to consider is the license.

TMFKSOFT  -  May 07, 2013

If no one reinvented the Wheel software wouldn't exist and many people wouldnt have the job they have today

Hawkee  -  May 07, 2013

Well look at Apple. You can say they re-invented mobile phones, but the OS is built on Unix.

[nas]peter  -  May 07, 2013

@Hawkee I read the license, I just need to keep their copyright in it ^_^

Hawkee  -  May 07, 2013

@[nas]peter Sometimes I might opt for a different solution if that's the case. Just depends on what's out there.

[nas]peter  -  May 07, 2013

@Hawkee I only need to keep their copyright in the LICENSE file and only if I were to redistribute it. So there's no issue in that!

Would be nice if you could figure in the ability to automatically add it to your clipboard. ;) Nice application.

[nas]peter  -  May 06, 2013

Damn! Are you trying to read my mind? I was just trying to figure that out! But apparently it's not exactly easy to do so with Firefox.

[nas]peter  -  May 06, 2013

Done! You should now also see the minor changes that I have made to it so far!

Hawkee  -  May 06, 2013

What did you end up using for the clipboard? I know in the past it had to be a flash plugin to be 100% cross browser.

Sorasyn  -  May 07, 2013

The clipboard button could be a bit bigger, but nice job. :)

[nas]peter  -  May 07, 2013

@Hawkee I used LMCButton.
@Sorasyn I've been trying that but LMCButton doesn't seem to like it

Sorasyn  -  May 07, 2013

Is there anyway to do it in HTML, and handle events with JS/JQuery? Or are you stuck using whatever PHURL is using?

[nas]peter  -  May 08, 2013

Security issues from what I heard. Phurl doesn't natively support it. I can do it in JS/JQuery but I'm currently working on some other stuff in the meantime :P
